Richard wanted to freshen up the front entrance of his Forest Hill home.

img

The front door was sun baked

img

The trim had started to peel.

img

The railings were beaten up.

img

The deck was weather worn.

img

img

And the siding had started to fail.

  1. Prep:

In order to bring the wood back to life, there was some serious prep that had to get done.

img

We scraped and sanded off all loose and peeling paint.

img

We caulked the cracks around the door frame

img

img

Sanded down the deck.

img

And we power sanded the heck out of the siding. Richard knew that the wood underneath wasn't in the greatest shape, and couldn't be perfect, but we did our best and it looks a lot better than before.

  1. Products we used:

img

For the front door we used Benjamin Moore Aura Semi Gloss Exterior Acrylic Latex. We matched the Farrow and Ball Colour "Pitch Black".

img

img

For the trim around the windows and the siding we used Benjamin Moore Aura Low Lustre Exterior Acrylic Latex. We matched the colour, Tuscany Brown, from their window manufacturer, Loewen Windows.

img

For the railings, risers and stringers, we matched the same Tuscany Brown in Benjamin Moore Arbourcoat Exterior Stain.

img

For the flat boards of the deck, we used Benjamin Moore Arbourcoat Opaque Stain again, this time, we matched the Farrow and Ball colour "Mole's Breath".

Stay tuned!! This is a job in progress!
