What is nonlinear storytelling? There is a Wikipedia page for it.

The TV series "lost" made extensive use of nonlinear storytelling by "flash backs".

The other TV, "damages", Emmy award winner, use this technic too.

I think a Chinese novel which was popular in China at the time, "穆斯林的葬礼” used this extensively by remix two timelines of two generation's love stories, and the two timelines perfectly meet at the final chapter.
