At Last! Annapurna

Pokhara, Nepal

Nepal had been on my 'to go' list for many years, and when I had the opportunity to go during Chinese New Year break, I made all the efforts to turn this dream into reality. It is sad that a few months later the country was struck by a devastating earthquake which not only destroyed many historical sites but also took thousands of lives. We decided, on our way to Pokhara, to take a six hours road trip which was quite pleasant as it was scenic. We flew back to Katmandu with a propeller plane, from which the view was stunning as we could see the snow-covered tip of Annapurna above the cloud! Below are the breathtaking view of Annapurna from Sarangkot Hill.

The last two rows of photos were taken at Patan and Pashupatinath Temple, Katmandu, which unfortunately was badly damaged by the earthquakes. Our prayers to those who lost their lives and to the families left behind.
